What an amazing (and busy) time! The Sports, Entertainment and Innovation Conference and Evo took place last week in Las Vegas. Both events were a reminder that gaming and esports can play an important role in the entertainment sector.
SEICon held several panels during its conference about esports, discussing sustainability, the changing definitions of who a gamer is and more. In addition, representatives from UNLV and Syracuse University were on hand to talk about collegiate esports (and the two universities held a showcase match).
Evo needs little introduction. The 2024 iteration was the largest esports tournament in history with more than 10,000 unique entrants. The event was held at the Las Vegas Convention Center for the first time and attracted attendees from all over the world.
Las Vegas has hosted a number of gaming related events in recent years, including the Esports Awards, the League of Legends All-Star event and the MrBeast vs. Ninja charity match. SEICon and Evo 2024 proved that Vegas should remain an attractive host city for future events.
You'll also see interviews in the August issue of Game On! Magazine from both events, including a surprise or two. A quick thank you to everyone who has subscribed so far. I can't tell you how grateful I am for your support. I hope everyone has a great week and I look forward to sharing more updates with you in the near future!
