On Friday, we received some sad news. Game Informer announced that it was ceasing operations after 33 years.
It's certainly no secret that the journalism industry has been on a rocky road, but this news still stings. The world needs more quality journalism outlets, not fewer.
I hope that everyone affected by the closure finds something new quickly. I certainly know how difficult it can be when you are scrambling for a new job after an unexpected job loss.
Moments like Friday also put things into perspective for me. As someone who started a new digital magazine, I know how challenging the landscape is. I know that there is a lot of hard work that needs to be done, but I want to help be a positive change in the journalism world. There are so many great journalists out there. I implore you to support them and the wonderful work that they produce. A world without quality journalism is one that we don't want to live in.
